Keep Bc From Cracking?!?

This seems to be happening alot to me lately. icon_cry.gif I don't know what I'm doing wrong. What could be causing this?

Well could be different things....your board you have your cake on could be that it isn't supporting the cake good (too flimsy)

OR

....... vinegar.....add a few drops to your bc recipe (you can't taste it)

I'm so glad you mentioned vinegar. I heard of using it once before, but thought it sounded odd. I'll try it. Thanks.

There is also a product that Wine an Cake Hobbies in Norfolk, VA sells called "Stay Ice" that is supposed to prevent cracking. It may be on their website, www.wineandcake.com
but you can certainly call them to order it. 757-857-0245.

The other local cake store had never heard of it, but it works.

Thanks for the replies. For some reason I wasn't notified that anyone responded so I thought no one did! I figured I'd look it up and give it a bump and low and behold there were answers icon_biggrin.gif I'm gonna try the vinegar route 1st since I'm pressed for time and then I'm really interested in this stay ice stuff so I think I might just give that a shot too. Thanks again for the tips!
