I always loved the bird house for house warming cakes... with the blue bird sitting on the outter stick of the house...

Being Italian, i cannot think of the term housewarming without thinking of this old tradition:

Housewarming guests bring a bottle of wine to ensure the host never goes thirsty, bread so they never go hungry, and salt to mend all wounds.

I, personally and because of my heritage, would do something with this theme on the cake.

Thanks ladycake!
cali4dawn, that sounds very sweet. I never heard that before. Hmm..something to keep in mind not only for the cake, but for the invitations. Thanks! icon_biggrin.gif
And lady cake, do you have any pictures of the birdhouse? Thanks in advance

If you have the Wilton Haunted House pan, it makes a great regular house too. You might even add a SOLD sign to it. Other ideas are a key (this is in one of the earlier Wilton YBs), a pot of flowers (Wilton), or even a WELCOME mat or maybe just a front door with their house number on it (Wilton Jukebox pan has a design like this).
