Sterilite Container For Transporting Cookies

Just wanted to share this with you. Im sure some of you have a better method but I had to improvise and it worked out great! I recently made 60 cookies for a baby shower. I had just finished some elaborate packaging with cello bags, ribbons and labels when it suddenly dawned on me .... how was I going to transport them to the shower??? I didnt want to stack them in my oblong cake taker, I was afraid it would chip some of the royal icing. I filled up two oblong carriers and 3 pie takers with a single layer and still needed more room!! It just wasnt going to work and I really didnt want to carry that many containers into the shower. Finally I remembered a large sterilite container that I store some of my cake supplies (pans, boards, etc.) in. I placed a layer of cookies in the bottom. I was still faced with the stacking issue so I took some empty plastic Easter eggs, opened them, scattered them between the cookie (flat side down). I then stacked a rectangle cardboard cake board on top of the cookies and eggs. The Easter eggs elevated the cake board just enough to keep it from resting on the cookies. I repeated the process and managed to get all of my cookie in one container. The Sterilite container kept everything sealed and was sturdy enough to withstand a 2 hour drive. Cookies didnt shift around , it was sturdy and so easy to carry into the shower. I used the 27 quart container http://www.sterilite.com/ProductDetail.html?ProductId=88&Section=Storage . You can get them everywhere!
I too use Sterllite containers to transport cakes and cookies! I did a stacked cake for a baby shower this weekend and used one of these containers to transport the cake. They come in many different sizes and shapes so they make excellent carriers at a fraction of the price of "official" bakery carriers.
