I sometimes use saran wrap on the board and then fondant. You can probably use the saran wrap over the paper if its tight enough not to show much wrinkles.

usually, i use double sided tape and freezer paper, or shiny wrapping paper. both block the grease. i cover my board with the tape, flip it onto the back of my paper, the cut around edges. the board is covered and no folding over edges. ugh.. i hate that. icon_wink.gif maybe it could work for you.

I use regular foil or I purchase cake foil from my local cake store. They carry various colors.

I like to cover my boards with embossed foil which I purchase from a local floral supply store. Wilton also carries the foil but I have only seen it in gold and silver. From the floral supply store it comes in a variety of colors and you get about 3-4 times the length than you would from the Wilton Roll

I like embossed fondant. Has anyone read Kery Vincents book The romantic cake she has a real clever way of building up your cake boards with molded pieces of fondant under fondant then foil paper put on top and rub into design. It looks so elegant.

Just don't use kitchen foil! Nothing ruins a beautiful cake more (in my opinion) than using household aluminum foil to cover a cake board. Sorry, I just had to say it.

There was another thread a few days ago about the florist foil. It is not food safe.
