I Need Help With Mmfondant!!

Hi, I realy want to try mmf but I don't know if you have to put a layer of icing on the cake first and then put on the fondant or if you can put the fondant right on the cake... Please Help Me!!!

You have to put a thin layer of buttercream frosting over the cake. This acts as a glue for the fondant to stick to. i usually use about 1/8" to 1/4" all over the cake. Be very careful not to put too much buttercream or to smooth your fondant too much becuase the buttercream will squish out the bottom.

you do need buttercream, the buttercream can also help cover and imperfections you torte may have, have fun icon_biggrin.gif
