I sell a lot of chocolates and know that you really have to do your research.

Check out the local candy shops in your area and also do a google search based on what you are offering. A good friend of mine is always bringing me samples of stuff she finds at shops. She'll ask me "what would you charge for this?" Then she'll tell me what the actual price was. It helps me to see what people are willing to pay for similar items locally.

Also, what are you spending on supplies, packaging and ingredients? That would be your base cost.

Then how much time do you spend preparing the item? You have to decide how much your time is worth per batch.

That's what I have done and ended up with what I think is fair yet profitable pricing.

Good luck!!

I sell huge quantites of hand painted chocolate & filled chocolates. I sell my pops from $1.00 up to $2.00 per lollipop, depending on the weight of each & how intricate the painting job. For instance, my santa pop weighs an ounce. I get 16 out of one pound of chocolate. But the detail painting is alot. So I charge $1.50. My assorted chocolate price is: $7.00 for 1/2 lb. $14.00 for pound.

I agree. Large chain candy stores such as RM charge about that much as well.
