HELP!!!! 3D Bear pan head fell off!!!!! EMERGENCY

I am making a 3D bear pan that I am turning in to Stitch as in Lilo & Stitch for a customer, I just tried baking it last night and the darn head fell off this morning. I think the batter I used was a little too thick. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to help this stupid thing not collapse. I need to have it made for Friday, so I have a little bit of time.

I don't have an answer for you, but I hope someone does as I am always worried with these 3-D pans (for that reason!)

I've never had this problem, but you can use some buttercream frosting to "glue" the head back on. Then insert a couple of drinking straws or dowels to hold it in place. I have the 3-D bunny with the big ears and I always insert a drinking straw in each ear to keep it stabilized. Good luck!

There are some posts about this happening to others before.. I'd Do what KrazyKross suggested and try to reattach it.. I know how frustrating that may be... I made the minature stand up bear and decorated like a monkey and I noticed that that back of the neck on it was cracked a little... apparently, these pans have some problems with the head/neck areas! Good luck with reattaching!! Let us know how it came out icon_smile.gif

I always use Dream Whip in my mixes which makes them hold up a little better, but a suggestion to add to gluing it back on, I would be worried that it would fall off again during transport, put a dowel through the head and just tell the customer that its there.

I have found that the 3D pans work better with a more dense cake. also when you cool the cake it is better to let it cool in the "back" of the pan for a bit. I let it cool upright for a while then remove the clips and take the "front" piece off. then let the cake cool in the back piece of the pan for a while longer. Then turn it out. Also putting a couple of plastic straws or thin dowels once the cake is cooled might help.
