If you look in my photos, my daughters wedding cake is basket weaved... I just love to basket weave...it's time consuming, but it's worth it when you're done...
Just practice on a dummy cake til you get the hang of it...
I have a mat that has the dividing marks so you get them evenly spaced...
Good luck... and you'll be glad you learned how to do this.

Don't be a chicken. It is a fairly easy technique. Just takes a little time. It really looks great on the sides of cakes.

Try it, basketweave is fun!! I wish I could do it on every cake but I know that it would get old after a while. My emergency easter cake used a basketweave.

Don't be scared of Basketweave! It can be a lot of fun. I'd try it first on a small cake. Make sure that you mark your sides and have fun! On large cakes you can start to go cross-eyed, but when you see it finished and see people's reactions its GREAT!! I cant wait to see how you amaze yourself when you try it!! My first and second cakes with Basket Weave are on here.

I thought it was going to be hard but once you get started it's pretty easy. Love the effect on the cake
nothing is more relaxing than decorating a cake or reading to your kids
