Brownie recipe anyone??

Hey everyone, I am wondering if anyone has a brownie recipe they'd like to share? I am looking for one that is NOT cake-like, more fudgey than cake-like. I am planning to use heart cookie cutters to cut them into heart shapes, so I also would like one that will hold it's shape when cooled. Is there a obvious difference in using cocoa powder vs. chocolate squares??Any suggestions?? Thanks! icon_smile.gif

Hi,

Here's the best recipe that I've come accross. I've been making this since I was 15 so....quite a long time. It's nice and fudgy, and I believe that I actually made this, and cut some hearts for a BF when I was a teenager....so yes, it holds.

Brownies

1/2 cup magarine(or butter)
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tps vanilla
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup walnuts(optional)

Cream magarine, sugar & 2 eggs until creamy. Add the rest until creamy and cook in 350 oven for about 20 in a 8X8 greased pan

Where is the leavening agent in this recipe? There's no baking powder or soda, so what makes it rise?

From what I've seen from this & other recipes, to get more of a "fudgey" brownie as opposed to "cake-like" you omit the baking powder/soda & that gives it more of a fudgey texture, instead of cake-y icon_smile.gif

Hopefully it will be just the right combo of heavy & dense.... I love dense brownies over cake-like. I am planning to make these tomorrow so I will post how they turn out! icon_smile.gif

Antonia ~ Thanks for the recipes too! I actually just found the avator in MS Word's clipart! icon_smile.gif I really like it too... would make a cute tattoo... but then again I already have 2 that I regret from the year I turned 18 so maybe I should steer clear of tattoos icon_smile.gif But a tee shirt or a apron would be super cute. I bet you could enlarge it in MS Word & use a do-it your self printing program that will print pictures out on iron-on patches for shirts, aprons, etc. You can get that stuff at OfficeMax or a place like that... Hmmm.... I might have to do that too! icon_smile.gif

I think I have the funniest tattoo I know...it's a BIG plate of bacon, eggs and toast on my back. I swear!! It's about 6"

No regrets though...until my mother sees it!! (I've only had it for a few years.)

OK... yeah that definitely is FUNNY!!! Im sure there has GOT to be a story behind that. I absolutely love Frogs, so I have 1 on my tummy & 1 on my ankle... I still love frogs & would never get them removed, they are addicting though....

The story behind it is that I am a 6 foot tall British girl and the term for a big breakfast in England is a "Full English"...so, on a dare of course, I did it on my back.
