i have a crime scene cake due for Thurs. the person that i'm doing this for wants a combined theme of CSI, Criminal Minds and Numbers. he don't want anything gory because of the kids, in-laws and grandparents that are going to be there. i have sketched a rough idea of what i think the cake should look like, but i need opinions, ideas, suggestions, anything that you have to offer would be greatly appreciated. i am supposed to show him a copy of the idea this afternoon. help...i'm desperate. (again icon_redface.gif )

TIA,
Jen

Hmmm... a fingerprint (CSI), an FBI badge, and a math equation?

In addition to the above suggestions, I think:

a microscope or magnifying glass

scales

silhouette of head with question mark inside

Police outline of the dead body! Plus I would make some of those yellow numbered triangles out of gumpaste to put on the top of the cake next to a clue.

Well, you could do a transfer using piping gel and then pipe over it with like chocolate.

bones and sculls made in choc or candy molds, not gory just peeking out of ground? Rubber gloves made out of ivory royal icing, just a few off the top of my head. Deff put up pics when you do it though!

Put crime scene tape all around the cake like a ribbon.

OMG, CSI, MIAMI, my most favorite show..

How about a gun, some blood and test tubes ? or maybe a photo of
David Caruso (Horacio Cain), I like him..

Probably bit too gory, but you could do blood spatters with red piping gel.
