That does sound like fun! I've been thinking the same thing with local bakeries & Wal-Mart. Anyone have any suggestions/ideas about those, too? Thanks!

I asked my DD who works at Dairy Queen. She says every owner is different, but the one at her restaurant works for 3-4 hours once a week.
The ice cream cakes are made by other employees during the slow shifts, so the decorator just puts on decorations.

Well, I would not suggest working at Walmart or grocery stores unless you want an extremely depressing job pulling frozen sawdusty cakes out of the deep freezers and get berated by managment to smack as much frosting on in as little time as possible. Then you freeze them in the bakery freezer and refill the display case every morning with cakes decorated weeks ago. Oh, and then you have to put a "baked fresh" sticker on the plastic shell case and let them sit another 7 days before you get to put them on a shelf for half price.

Sorry for the rant..... I did get good practice whipping out fast cupcakes though icon_smile.gif

I currently work PT at a local DQ. I use the KopyKake projector with the cards. We also have the edible images. No airbrushing. If you are good with the Rich's Bettercream as far as making flowers etc you should not have a problem. I make the cakes and the blizzard cakes too. Myself and another gal decorate them for the display and for orders. If I have to decorate only them it takes about 2-3 hours. If I have to make the cakes then, about 3-4 hours. The only problem is the melting factor. I do like it though. The time depends on how many cakes you have to do. Good luck. PS ask if you have to bring your own supplies or if they have them. I like using my own tips because they are not all bent and rusted.
