Could you give me a guide line as to pricing of cakes in PA .I live on the outskirts of Pittsburg and have been looking around but the only places I find doing cakes are the supermarkets. This would help me tremendously.
Thankyou in advance.

Hi! I'm on the outskirts of Pittsburgh, too...about 40 miles northeast just outside of Apollo. I price my cakes at 2.5 times the cost of ingredients, regardless of the size. If it's a really involved cake with fondant, etc, I'll charge three times the cost of ingredients. I only bake from scratch, so they can get pretty expensive. I just did a 9" round birthday cake and charged $70. Don't go by what Wal-Mart or Giant Eagle charges...their cakes are junk!
