I have been alerted by a CC friend that a woman from the UK has been taking photos and using them on her site. She used one of mine, along with several others I've seen on CC. She also posted Wendy Kromer's and Martha Stewarts photos, and other published cakes I've seen before.
PLEASE CHECK!! Here is the website:

I've emailed Wendy Kromer and alerted her as well.
Make sure your cakes are not up there...and email her to let her know her actions are unacceptable.
Thanks,
Ellen
There is a cookie bouquet on there that I've seen on this website as well. Can't remember who did it though. Sheesh.
And cookies that were done by Antonia74 I believe!! The nerve.
Well, we can only hope she asked for permission first.
great! She probably never thunk it! Did you contact her? This stirs me up! I would never post someone elses photos on a website. EVER! To me there's a difference in asking a client, "What about something like this?" from a photo on the net and posting it on your peronal site. Makes it look like you made it! I bet Martha's knickers would be knotted aswell! Sheesh!
Keep us posted!
Elle
I just don't understand why people do this. If I saw a cake I was dying to make....I'd make a fake one, put my spin on it and post it on my website@
The website in question is down now. I pulled it up but had to go get some stuff done. Came back clicked on a link and it all went away.....
its up now, and those happy birthday cookies sure do look like Helen's writing (Antonia)
The cookie bouquet does look familiar as well.
Yes, it's up and I recognized several cakes/cookies but don't know who they belong to! Mine aren't up there (Duh!), but I'd be ticked if someone did that being in business. If it were for personal use that's one thing. Curious if anyone contacted her.
She has my butterfly cookies!!! OMG - they were a pile of c**p, one of the first cookies I did and not looking they way they should (RI was too thick). I actually find it quite funny that of all the really good things she could have stolen from me she chose those.
She also has Antonia74's cupcake thingy. You know the big square stand with cupcakes? The Fuschia, Lime and gerbera daisies. Thats first up on her "fairy" cakes. Just FYI

She didn't, but I have emailed her and let her know I want those down within 24 hours or I will prosecute. She has two of my cupcake tower photos and one of my "happy birthday" cookie photos on there.
Funny thing is...if people just had the decency to ask, I think I very might well let people use an image of mine as examples of what they can do on their website. Not asking and just stealing is what annoys me more than anything!
Anyhoo...let's not let this turn into a horrible bashing thread, okay everyone? The baker has already received dozens of emails from people whose photos are on her site and nearly every copyrighted photo has been accounted for according to members on another forum who have been emailing since yesterday to advise bakers/bakeries/magazines of their work being posted on her website.
Let's just wait and see what the person does. No need to make this worse.
Yes please do not turn this into a large scale attack.
If you have one of your photos on their site, then politely email them and ask for it to be removed if you wish it removed.
If you are not a person who's photo appears there, please do not contact them, it will only make it take longer for them to see the emails from people who are requesting their photo be removed.
Every time this topic comes up, it turns ugly, and people who should not be involved, insert themselves into the situation.
Give the site operators time to address the requests.
Thank you
Anyone else notice that this person has a copyright notice on her site? Would that mean that it would be a violation to use your own picture that is on her site?
(obviously, I'm kidding. The picture owner still holds the copyright, regardless of whether the "borrower" puts a notice.)
Someone was using my website as there own once. I called her and she denied any knowledge.
I just looked into her site. I recognize a couple of cakes from here as well as Antonia's HB cookies. I also (and this is sad) saw a pic of her mini cakes that were swiped from Ron Ben Isreal's site.
I don't think anyone would mind if she had only asked first...I know I wouldn't. I would have been flattered, but that's beside the point.

Darn! I can't believe this happened to me again!
Just when will I be good enough to be theft-worthy?
We could give her the benefit of the doubt? that she is able to completely recreate the pictures of others, using cakes she made in the exact backgrounds and details :'?? NOT
Bummer, Im sure her cakes are just as wonderful. but cant tell which would be hers because of all the CC pictures I recognize.
Oddly enough I was browsing through some days old threads where I was directed to CC member Kylie Lambert's cupcake webpage.

Those gorgeous cupcakes on her front page are on this website, on the second page of the Fairy Cakes section. I've gone ahead and PM'd Kylie about it.
Edited to add:
I've also PM'd TheCakeWizard. Her mini cakes http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=28849 are also on the site.
Well I just learned of this now and tried to see it and the site is not found any longer. What a jerk!!! Be proud of your own stuff show what you can do, obviously they can't do so they have to steal too bad...
Although I am a newbie, I am wondering how you can protect the photos you post from being used on someone site?
Probably the easiest way to deter it is to use a photo editor/graphics program and type your name or your bakery name across the photo.

I've been around long enough to learn one thing... if you are able to do exact replications because you are good, you don't need to take and post others pictures you have more than of enough of your own pictures and you post those.
More often than not those that take others pictures to pass off as their own is because they are starting out and are not as good and want to hide their lack of skills (or that they are still learning).
A gal I did a Wilton class with in California did that. She was asked to make a wedding cake. She had a huge portfolio of "her pictures" to pick from. The cake was rather simple but she had never done a stacked cake before. Needless to say it didn't turn out even close to what she requested and the bride called her on it the morning of her wedding.
The gals I decorated with were awesome. I was the new kid and they had been at it at least 4 or more years longer than me. They pounded into my head "don't lie about your skills, you will get caught. People are fine if you are upfront and say "hey I've not done one like this before but would love to try" if it's a first time creation for you. If they aren't ok with it, they will ask you what you do best and go with that." - they were right!
