hi all,
i need some ideas for a birthday cake that a customer wants for two of her friends who play basketball. i do not want to do a round cake that looks like a basketball! this cake will be a very large one that needs to feed over fourty people. does anyone have any ideas?

Hmmm. No round cake... How about you make the sheet look like the Basketball court. On one side it can say happy b-day (name) and the other side could say happy b-day (name). Or you can just ice it white and trace 2 basketballs one on the left and one on the right and and instead of it reading the maker of the ball you can put there names and above the balls write Happy Birthday.. Hope this helps!

You could do the court, write happy birthday to 2 team players and have their names on there with their favorite b'ball team colors, follow the idea briansbaker had..
