NC is one of the states that you can work out of your kitchen. I think the rules are that there be no pets and cake stuff must be kept seperate from your other stuff. That is as far as I know.

Wow, this was weird, I was just looking for the same information when this thread came up. I will be moving to NC in the near future and was also wondering what the laws were. I tried to research it but seems hard to understand. Any help would be great, thanks!

Hey Tiff...I've been involved up to my eyeballs in trying to become licensed for probably a good 8 weeks now. For myself, it's been a S-L-O-W process. TOO slow, if you ask me, but I understand that there are certain steps that need to be taken. I can help with some of the regulations/requirements...
All of your decorating tools, pans, etc., must be kept separate from your "family" items. Same in the fridge, decorating items must be on a separate shelf from other "family" items. No indoor pets/animals. Must have restroom access in near vicinity of your kitchen. Truthfully, these are all that I can remember right now, because they're really the only ones that I read over that I would need to "change/correct" prior to my actual inspection. I contacted my local environmental health department, and they, in turn, forwarded me on to the exact person that I needed to speak with. Maybe try that first. I couldn't make heads or tails from the NC AG website either! All jibberish to this gal! Anyway, good luck, and I'll find the information that I have collected so far, so if you'd like any further details, I'll have it ready and waiting for you!

Take care,
Amy
