Check your local community college. We have one in Omaha that has a lot of personal enrichment classes each spring and fall, and they offer cookie and cake decorating courses...among others. My only problem was that the course I signed up to take was cancelled due to lack of students. Bummer!

That would be such a good idea for Wilton to put on. I'd love to take a cookie decorating class!

I second penguinprincess! The talent on this site is awesome, and sometimes intimidating. It would be fantastic to meet these artists in person. If anyone in the Omaha area is thinking about offering a class, let me know!

ICES is a good place to start, as is the local continuing education programs (where I teach) and local colleges. Local cake decorating stores also will include cookie classes in their Fall lineups. I highly doubt Michaels, Hobby Lobby or JoAnn's will have a cookie class anytime soon, but if they do it will most likely be a Wilton class as they have the corporate agreement. Then there's always private lessons too, if you find a decorator you like. Hope that helps some! icon_biggrin.gif

The Wilton cookie class is called "Cookie Blossom". It's a 2-night project class. (Wilton has a Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's version. There may be more but I remember those three off the top of my head.) Each Michaels store's Wilton class schedule is set by their instructor. So, it's up to the individual instructor whether they offer the class or not.

If your local Michaels isn't offering the class, tell the Manager that you'd be interested in taking that class. It might motivate them to offer it.

you may want to check with your local cake store, that is where I took my cake and cookie classes. Had so much fun and I decorate cookie bouquets and cakes.

oooooh I am signed up for that at the WS in NJ near my house, I am so excited! I think it is the hour before the store is even open so you get the whole store to yourself to play with cookies icon_lol.gif
