JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE KNEW OF ANY COOKIE DECORATING COURSES THAT ARE OFFERED FOR A WEEK OR WEEKEND...KINDA LIKE A COOKIE CAMP FOR COOKIE DECORATORS.
THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT.
Check your local community college. We have one in Omaha that has a lot of personal enrichment classes each spring and fall, and they offer cookie and cake decorating courses...among others. My only problem was that the course I signed up to take was cancelled due to lack of students. Bummer!
That would be such a good idea for Wilton to put on. I'd love to take a cookie decorating class!
I just ran into my Wilton teacher yesterday and she was posting signs that Wilton is starting a 2 night cookie class in October!!! Check your local Michaels and see if they may be starting them too!!
I nwould love to take a cookie decorating class!! Especially from some people here on this board!!
I second penguinprincess! The talent on this site is awesome, and sometimes intimidating. It would be fantastic to meet these artists in person. If anyone in the Omaha area is thinking about offering a class, let me know!
i'd check through ices also. i got to take 4 classes both from autumn carpenter and toba garrett.
if anyone knows of any classes in Colorado Springs-- Please let me know!! I would jump at the chance to take a cookie decorating class!
I'm in texas. I know in DEC OF 07/ PENNY WILL BE DOING ONLY A DEMO IN DALLAS/RICHARDSON AREA.... HOW I WISH IT WAS A CLASS
I would love to see a class in Arizona. Does any one know of here? I am new to this and would like to know more.
ICES is a good place to start, as is the local continuing education programs (where I teach) and local colleges. Local cake decorating stores also will include cookie classes in their Fall lineups. I highly doubt Michaels, Hobby Lobby or JoAnn's will have a cookie class anytime soon, but if they do it will most likely be a Wilton class as they have the corporate agreement. Then there's always private lessons too, if you find a decorator you like. Hope that helps some!
The Wilton cookie class is called "Cookie Blossom". It's a 2-night project class. (Wilton has a Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's version. There may be more but I remember those three off the top of my head.) Each Michaels store's Wilton class schedule is set by their instructor. So, it's up to the individual instructor whether they offer the class or not.
If your local Michaels isn't offering the class, tell the Manager that you'd be interested in taking that class. It might motivate them to offer it.
each michael's is different. each store is responsible for coming up wiht their own classes
you may want to check with your local cake store, that is where I took my cake and cookie classes. Had so much fun and I decorate cookie bouquets and cakes.

oooooh I am signed up for that at the WS in NJ near my house, I am so excited! I think it is the hour before the store is even open so you get the whole store to yourself to play with cookies
