I did a last-minute wedding cake (4 tiers) for $1300. Couldn't be helped. Some sugar detailing had to be rush-shipped from overseas to make the deadline. icon_eek.gif

well mine was enormous...6 tiers...which explains the price...they needed one big enough to feed the whole company....

other than that the other big ones for the mexican community...whats it called when the girl turns 15 or 16?

plus they just get gi-normous tiered cakes for birthdays....i think it's really cool they all pitch in and foot the bill for the big parties around here.

if i ever have to recreate my daughter Peyton's 8th birthday cake i did a few weeks ago (in my photo's) it will be a $200.00 cake just because of all the painting and details that went into it..

Mine was a quinceanera cake for $425 including fountain rental. Next time it will be at least $500 before the rental because of all the work that went into it.

I just made a cake for a Bat Mitzvah that I got $400 for ( in the gallery under Bat Mitzvah Cakes)...it was a huge cake, and looking back I'm sorry I didn't charge more for it...but I felt GUILTY , and wanted to keep theprice down for the lady. I had also handmade her invitations, response cards, and place cards ( I'm a scrapbooker too!). The cake was large enough to serve 100 people and was covered in fondant....guess I seriously undercharged, huh? Oh, well...I was happy with the outcome of the cake, and she was THRILLED...it got rave reviews and that meant SO much to me!

Mine was a wedding cake that feed 250 people, it was 16", 14",12" and 2-10" on the side for $640.00. It wasn't a very detailed cake but I am the only one in the area that could produce the cake.....It is in my pics with the rose petals around it....

As far as pricing, Im not good at that at all! have mainly just taken donations. The pict of the cake with the #1 on top was a $40 donation, some people thought I was crazy! Oh well...

Wow! my average cake is $500.00

The most we have gotten for one was $6000, it for a casino & fed 3000ppl about 7 yrs ago.

Last year we made $2500 for a very whimsical cake.
It's on my website, it is 6",8",10" & 14" round teal fondant and has 6" tall layers. I had to make frogs with crowns and mushrooms and dragon flies and a lot of flowers and other cute stuff. it took me about 14 hours to make.

Every weekend I make 6"&10" round tiered 1st birthday cakes and we start those at $100- $175. If they want a looped bow I add $45.

These are time consuming and I decorate about 10-14 birthday and 2-8 weddings every weekend by myself. My daughter bakes and makes icing.
If she has time she usually does the grooms cakes and assists me.

I hope others comment, I was enjoying this thread.
