Telephone Co. Retirement Cake - Help! Need Ideas

I need to make a retirement cake for about 65-100 people, for a man retiring from the phone company. It is for my friends father so I'd really like it to be nice, but I'm drawing a blank. Please send me some ideas, I'd really appreciate all the help I can get!!!
Does the company have a logo? I would think a sheet cake with the logo in the middle would be nice. If it is going to be kind of a fun party...you could always add some kind of telephone reciever with a curly cord or something like that. That is all I can think of right now.

I would probably try to figure out a way to make a 3-D antique telephone...the kind that was a wooden rectangular box that hung on the wall and had the black cup? that you put to your ear. I keep picturing a scene from Little House on the Prairie...
I did an anniversary cake that might suit too. It was just the company logo. One thing that would be fun would be to find out what all the companies he worked for were and put their logos on. It could be he worked for 5 or more companies that were merged/acquired into his current company. He would probably get a kick out of all the "old" logos. It would certainly get the conversations rolling.
The cake is the AT&T one with the logo and blue roses under my pictures.
Good Luck!
i like the ideas above but maybe put a saying like "Its time to hang-up and say good bye. Happy Retirement"

That is great. I really like that saying.
Maybe you could reproduce a old desk phone.
I posted a telephone cake last month. Crappy photo, but the cake was cute!
Check out my photo section, as I can't seem to post it right here.
you guys are great! thanks for the input. i just talked to my friend again and she is hoping for a black dial desk phone. I think I may try to make a 3-d one with the receiver off the hook. If I put this on a sheet cake maybe it'll work - If anyone has any tips please let me know. Also, do you think it would be easier in buttercream or mmf for the phone?
