I just got an order for a cake that has to have ladybugs on it. No big deal I can pipe ladybugs, and even have a mold if I need it. She wants the colors neon green, barbie pink, and lavander, and maybe add a few butterflies. I can do a regular ol' garden seen, but I was wondering if anyone out there had any creative ideas. I really enjoy trying different ideas and tecniques. It does have to use a whipped icing though (she knows it will lighten the colors). Any suggestions would be appreciated. icon_smile.gif

I have this one saved to my favorites. It may be more simple than what you had in mind, but I really like it. http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&meta=favpics&cat=0&pos=55

If it is for a big enough party...I would do a 3 tier(6,8,10) round stacked cake with those colors. I would decorate each tier with ladybugs, butterflies and flowers. I think it would be different and fun! icon_smile.gif

Thanks. I've decided to make one of the cakes look like a ladybug. My other question is what does a ladybug's face look like. I can't remember if they even have antanna or not, or eyes or spots on their heads. It's been a long time since I've looked at a ledybug. Any help would be great. thumbs_up.gif

Hi,

Here's two that I have saved. These aren't mine. The big one is from a Woman's World magazine, and the other, is from the net somewhere....

Wouldn't it be cute to (using loaf pans) make a cake that looked like a white pickett fence. Then add ivy, butterflies, and ladybugs all over it. Hmmmm....now I'm getting ideas. That wouldn't be too difficult to do would it? Anybody got any ideas?
