I noticed most of the license postings are from states other than California.
I need help from California residents.

I'm baking cakes and desserts for sale and is now seriously considering getting a license.
I bake at home so it is definitely a home bakery at least for now.

Is there someone from California who can give me an idea on how hard it is to get a license?

I would definitely appreciate it.

There are state rules that apply to everyone in California, but It really depends on what county you are in as well. In our area you can just about forget getting a license to do cakes from your home. The restrictions make it nearly impossible unless you can get zoning to build a spearate structure in your yard. You must have 3 sinks, all cabinets built up off the floor, no food prepared or served to anyone in your cake area. A separate bathroom facility including a shower, why the shower I don't know.

If it is possible for you to work through a caterer or to rent a facility from church, someplace where you work in their kitchens and can be included under their license you might be able to be approved.
