Adven68 posted a pic of a cake with gum paste lettering on it and I loved it so I tried my hand at it for a cake due today. I loved playing with it and it came out not too bad for the first time. I cannot wait to do another one. By the end of this one I was getting the hang of it.

The client LOVED it!

very cool. I have been wanting to try my hand at this also after seeing the first one posted. Seeing yours makes we want to go make another cake just to do it for!

Your roses are very nice also! I like the look of chocolate base ice with chocolate decorations.

Looks great. I too saw Adven68's cakes and was impressed with the lettering. Was planning on doing something like this for a cake I am doing this month. Was wondering if the "sheen" you got on the letters is normal for gumpaste or something you added to it to make it so shiny? Can't wait to try it myself!

Thanks!
Thalia

Oh my gosh!!!! I never felt so special in my whole life!! Thanks guys for all your kind words about the lettering. I actually was inspired by a Collette Peters cake....it's a gorgeous pink wedding cake and she wrote "I do" and "Will you marry me" in that style lettering. I am starting a new business in September and I plan to have this be my staple....everyone seems to love it and it's so easy to do.

Now, I did post the instructions a couple of weeks ago...let me see if I can find them....thanks again!!!
