I'm looking too fro a thick, creamy fudge to use for filling that will stay thick and creamy, not harden or dry out. Something along the lines of Dove chocolate fudge ice cream topping. If I could thicken that a little, it would be perfect. I want something like the layer of chocolate fudge in a Dairy Queen ice cream cake!

Have you tried the chocolate syrup frosting recipe on here, yet? I've made it twice and love it! Not sure if this is what you're looking for or not. It's pretty thick, though.
I am looking for the same thing. All the recipes I have found have a large amount of powdered sugar so they are not dark and rich. Something along the lines of the Dove Hot Fudge sauce that was suggested sounds perfect. The new Starbucks cupcakes have a frosting that looks great, but I have not tried it to see if it is a good as it looks.
Ya'll could make whipped ganache
ganache is just chocolate melted with scalded cream and maybe a little bit of sugar or butter added. This is the same stuff that's in the middle of truffles. Yummy yumm-o
The whipped ganache is very light and oooooooooooohhhh soooooo good! Not sure that I would be consider it "fudgy", though.
Best Fudge frosting EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
( Note: this MUST be made in the blender)
6 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons evaporated milk
1 ½ cups sugar
1. Melt the chocolate. Cool slightly.
2. Blend the evaporated milk and sugar in a blender on medium speed for just a few seconds.
3. Add the chocolate to the sugar mixture in the blender and blend on high speed until the frosting is thick and shiny, 1 to 1 ½ minutes. The mixer's sound will change when the frosting has thickened.
4. Spoon frosting into a bowl and let sit at room temp for an hour or two. Don't refrigerate it, even if you're not using it for a few days. But it's so smooth and luscious - how could you not use it for a few days???
I use the recipe on the back of the container of Hersheys Dutch process special dark cocoa. It's very good. It's almost black and very fudgy.
Thanks txkat...................I too was wanting like the dairy queen stuff but this sounds yummo too. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh to try them all.
Try this frosting. It's almost exactly halfway between frosting and fudge. I call it blender ganache.
