I am just starting a cake decorating business from home, and today I started up a small webpage to display my cakes. I am trying to get some input on it. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for taking the time to look!

God Bless!

Hi Faitheve, I think your cakes are very nice. I think you should be mindful of background when you are taking your photographs. Make the focus be of your cakes and not what's going on in the background. It is distracting. You should do ok though.

I like the site but IMHO I would like to see the background be other than black and I agree witha previous post that you should be careful of the background in yo photos. Your cakes are really pretty and the site should do really well. Good Luck.

Your cakes look very nice. I like the board for the wedding cake, but I think you might want to consider larger boards for the rest of your cakes. It will make them easier to handle and give you a little more working room. Making a finger lift or "cleat" will help also. This is just something attached to the bottom of the cake board so that your fingers can go underneath. I usually attach a smaller version of the board to the bottom. Be sure that the "cleat" is not too small. This could cause an unbalance cake.

Best of luck to you in your new endeavor. It's looks like you're going to do well.

thanks all! I really appreciate the honest feedback! The background is the first thing my husband said too! I will change that. Thanks for the info on the board too, I think that will make it easier for me. I am really thankful for you guys! Have a great night!

Its a beginning. but there is a spelling mistake on occasions (twice) and you may want to consider not having your phone number on there and let people contact you through email. just to be on the safe side.

sweetcakes,

Thanks for pointing out the spelling mistake! I cant believe I did that twice! I did take your advice on leaving out the phone number. I am just doing this to have a place where people can look at my stuff online. This is not really meant for advertising per say. I will just give this to people instead of having to email pictures. Plus, I know it is just a free blog page, but I am not really in any position to pay for a website. Anyways, I do appreciate you! You are not too far from me!

Thanks again!
