Yes, I always grease and flour my pans for all my recipes. Sometimes I even lay a parchment paper cut to size on the bottom and grease and butter that. What I use is PAM then the flour on top and shake off excess.
I have never used a butter spray. Could it be that you are unmolding it too fast?

Ok.. this is probably a dumb question, but why do you go through all the hassle of making the yellow cake from scratch when you said this one tastes like duncan hines? Is it cheaper to make or do you just like doing it from scratch better?

Hi peacockplace,
It is not a stupid question. The reason why I don't use a cake mix is b/c I do everything else from scratch and for me it is "cheating" if I don't make the cake also from scratch. It's a personal thing I have. Maybe I would feel different if I was selling my cakes, b/c there I would want to make a profit and the boxed cake mixes are cheaper to make. PLEASE don't get me wrong, I don't condemn people that make them, on the contrary, I like how they taste, b/c they are very moist and fluffy. But hey, what works best for each person. Like I said before, it's just me, and the way I am icon_biggrin.gif

Happy baking,
Naty

You know Naty, I grew up making scratch cakes. I'd pour through the recipe books and try everything. Now that I have two kids.. the time and the cost are a factor! Maybe one day I'll get back into the scratch thing! Your recipes sound delicious!
