Okay, this may be a stupid question but I can't seem to figure it out.

I want to use the cake matrix to figure out pricing for the sugar cookies and gingerbread cookies I'll be making for an upcoming craft fair. I plug in my ingredients for one batch of NFSC and it provides a price. Now, this seems to be based on a 'per batch' basis. Do I divide the total amount by the approximate number of cookies it is supposed to make? If so, that works out to pennies. If I change my hourly rate, I would need to charge mega bucks to justify what I'm charging.

Those of you who charge for cookies, how do you price yours?? Do you $1 per inch or do you have another system to figure out the pricing?

Help please. icon_smile.gif

I charge $13.~ for 45 cookies.... but they have to buy them as a batch and they have to be the same kind of cookie. I haven't done a bake sale or craft fair as of yet but I would price depending on what type you are making and how they are decorated... example: if you do intense decorating on them charge $3.00 for them IF you would pay $3.00 for one yourself... I guess you kinda gotta put yourself in their shoes on this one... I don't know maybe someone else can offer a better way to do it icon_smile.gif

For a nicely decorated sugar cookie, $1. per inch is a good rule of thumb price. I always package them individually also - which helps justify the pricing.
