Ok here's one more that I was very proud of and worked a long time on. All the pics are of the same cake. It was a hexagon cake so that's why all the different pics. Each side was hand painted. Thanks for looking again.

tonedna,

your cakes are beautiful (your link took me to your "my photos" page. I wish I had more orders for tiered cakes because I really love the way they look.

Here is one I was really proud of. I stacked with no dowels and it some how help up even on the drive. I can't wait until I get another chance to do something like this! I really loved the way the bricks turned out. I learned that from an episode of "Ace of Cakes"

Here is the duct tape cake I did. I would love any suggestions on how to improve it in the future.

Maybe it's just me but I think a lot of people are posting cakes and not commenting other people cakes. The whole point of this thread is to encourage others and if me and a couple of other people are the only ones commenting then that goal is not really being accomplished and there might as well be no thread. I know some of you guys might be starting at the beginning of the post and have not gotten this far yet but I just want to let you that today I commented on several cakes and even though they were posted on Wednesday and Thursday I was the only person wh had commented so far. Please don't take this as offensive I just think that if you are going to post a cake you need to participate in commenting on others.

Daisy, do you have to have a certain level of posts to be able to view the uncommented? I can't access that area

Hallo,

how can i browse uncomented pictures? When I click on it, it says i am not allowed to see it icon_sad.gif

By the way, can i put here my whole gallery icon_lol.gif ok just kidding. But here is few which i really love.

oh I will stop now, or I will put here really my whole gallery. The thing is, I was just thinking maybe my cakes look way to much amateur. You know, that childish looking.... oh well... still need lots of practice.

I worked really hard on this one, and haven't even had one comment yet -- even though it's been up for only 1/2 a day, I was pretty disappointed. A couple of cakes that I didn't even have to think about got 5 favorites and multiple comments withing minutes.

Anyway, here's the cake I did today. There are a lot of firsts on it for me --

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1150589

At times, I have gone on a commenting streak, and then I go through dry spells -- I will do my best to make sure I comment on at least 5 a day -- it's not that hard, and people like me are putting a lot into their cakes and would love the feedback.

Thanks for the thread.

S.

You have to be a gallery support member in order to have access to the uncommented photos. The only requirement to a GSM is 100 forum posts.Once you have that many posts you can click on the heading under my or another GSM name and then click subscribe to this group eventially the moderator will approve you and you will be able to access the umcommented.

HTH!

I think that all of my photos only have one comment under them. There are a few that I worked really hard on and they have lots of views with one comment. When I am looking for ideas I always comment on a photo when I open it.

I have been trying to comment on pictures more often, unfortunately I can not spend that much time on here. I think we should make it a rule that we comment on a pic before we save it.

Hi, I'm just joining this thread...

I do plan on going through and doing my part to comment on other people's work as soon as possible.

Here is a cake I was really proud of (except the drop flowers), but I've only had a few views.
(to date, I've only decorated about 10 or so cakes- and haven't had time for classes yet...)

Not sure if this is under noticed or not, I only do 2 or 3 cakes a year for family but this was quite a hit with everyone at the party once I convinced them that it was "the Birthday Cake"! http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1149455

While I appreciate the people who did comment on my cakes, the following cakes I thought I did a fairly decent job on, but really don't have that many comments.

The first has over 100 views...1 comment icon_cry.gif

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=85055

This next one has over 300 views, but just 4 comments icon_sad.gif

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=90127

Also this cake I thought I did a good job, but only 2 comments.

Here is my latest cake I finished it last night in cake class. So far it only has 9 views and no comments. I am proud of it because not only is it my first fondant cake but also it survived falling off the plate and getting wet since it was raining outside!

Thanks!

I must admit that I am a little hurt at the latest cakes that I uploaded. I am proud of all three because all were a first for me in some shape or form. But I really spent a lot of time on my Dora cake and am really proud of that as well as the graduation cupcakes that I did. I only have one comment on each and less than 40 views. I am wondering now is my technique not as good as others or do people just not like my cake. If anyone wants to go and critique my gallery please do so as this is a hobby now but I am taking it seriously as this is going to be my business when I get out of the military. I am even looking into attending CIA so if I am not good then needless to say I don't want to waste 20 grand a year going to this school. Thank you for reading my post. icon_sad.gif
