I just wanted to let you know that I made some beaker cookies using your recipe for Spooky Science Night at my little boys school last night, and I went in to the school today to drop off some stuff for the PTO, and everyone in the teachers lounge raved about the cookies. They were the best they had ever tasted and were so pretty. They loved the icing, and said they know who to call when they need to order cookies. I really have a feeling that those cookies are going to bring several orders in for me! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

I use powdered sugar....I'm sure it's the same thing.

Ever since I first saw that post - something like "what do you not share", I've been thinking a lot about antonia74 (Helen) and how amazing she is for sharing her recipes and methods. Baking is her livelihood and I'm assuming she sells cookies and yet she shares with us anyway.

I'm glad your cookies turned out so well!

I agree there are alot of great recipes that are on here that people put there heart and soul into making and they share it. Those people deserve a pat on the back. I have seen so many great cookies with antonias recipe.

I used her recipe for cookies as well. I loved how icing got hard enough so you could stack them, but it wasn't hard when you bit into the cookie. It has a really good flavor as well.

I think it is very generous of her to share also, especially since she does make a living with these! Someone asked me for the recipe yesterday at the school, and part of me doesn't want to give it to her since she decorates also...I told myself...it really isn't my recipe! I'm not sure that I could share a recipe with so many people that I make a living from! Thanks again!

Can anyone tell me how long does it for Antonia's icing to dry? I have to make some cookies this evening and think I'll try it out.

Thanks so much everyone! I'm really happy that I did that cookie tutorial and shared. It's truly exciting to watch everyone try it out and then post photos. I am utterly amazed by the creativity and skill of the cookies I see posted in the gallery here, especially by "first-timers"! thumbs_up.gif

I took a tiny bit of flak from fellow bakers for "giving away my secrets" on this site, which I think is utter icon_razz.gificon_razz.gificon_razz.gif . I've gotten back a hundred-fold for simply sharing what I myself have learned. Nothing beats that! icon_smile.gif

Thank you! Thank you for the icing recipe. I made the NFSC last night and iced them. This is the first time my icing has turned out exactly like I wanted it. I added a little vanilla, a little almond and a little creme bouquet. Wow it is so good and so easy to work with. Thanks again!
