So today is the day I deliver my 1st big order in trade for advertising. Very exciting .....so you would thnk! Baked ALL day yesterday finished up around 4. I never let my dogs in the litchen per board of health. Well one of my American eskomos decided to jump the gate (i guess he couldn't resist my buttercream) Ate the corners of sheet cake!!!! I heard a licking noise icon_confused.gif I don't own a cat! icon_confused.gificon_eek.gif Checked on the situation & low and behold my dog on the table. icon_mad.gificon_mad.gif

So baked AGAIN last night. All is good. Woke this morning and wouldn't ya know it.......I can't get ahold of ANYONE who was going to help this morning!! NO babysitter.....No help delivering. So I am off to the mall with my 2 yr old. Can't utilize the stroller (no room in car with the cakes!) Need to make approx 7 trips back & forth while holding his hand. icon_surprised.gificon_cry.gif

Gee Wiz......Well guess I better go or I will be late on top of everything else. Thanks for letting me vent this morning!!!

oh lisa, i can see you now--well i can see myself, i'm a mommy with little patience & my children never learned to walk, they crawled then ran--so i could see myself being pulled by a 2 yr old across the parking lot while i'm trying to keep a cake level

wow--i'm so glad M & you made it (oh the cakes too icon_biggrin.gif )

Don't you just love it when people tell you they'll do something, then never show up? I'm glad delivery went well! I'm sure the cakes were a hit too! I hope you get TONS of business from this!

Thanks......They absolutely were in awe of the display. Thay couldn't believe I am self taught.....(well in truth I attend the cake college of cake central.com). Funny how lately when I make a delivery the first words lately are "where did you learn all this"

Lisa,
Everything looks so beautiful!
I hope you get muncho muncho orders from it.
I bet little guy was a trooper. 2 yr olds are so forgiving, I love them!
Keep a sunny smile despite the weather and crazy situation. You have worked every hard to get here and that work is not going to end. However it is what you want and you finally have it. Chin up sweetie you'll do fine. thumbs_up.gif

Beautiful job. I completely empathize with you and the 2 year old. I have a 4 year old and a 21 month old with an independant streak, so I would have been in tears trying to do what you did.

I hope you get lots of calls!!! It looks wonderful!

(just curious because it's huge!)

And gorgeous. Very verrrrrryyy pretty. I love all of your layers! I really like how it's Christmassey and elegant and not too much green and red! It's so perfect! Beautiful!

CZ the cake is a dummy (thank goodness) I gave them sheet cakes to serve. Worked out great. I was able to do the display in my spare time.

Awesome job spottydog! If you don't mind my asking; the how much cake did you have to supply and for how long do you get the store window?

I gave 5 11 X 15 sheets.
Cake will be there only till closing tonight.
I figured 82.00 for ingredients boxes ect. Plus cost to do display.
I look at it as 82.00 for advertising in the center of a mall on a rainy & windy day. Thay expected about 3-400 people today for they're V.I.P. event

Spotty I am sure you will get your $82.00 back 100 fold for this project. It is beautiful! Such creativity and patience (back and forth trips with little one) is a wonderful gift, and it looks like you are using it to its fullest.

LOL, oh Spotty...You brought back wonderful memories of me and my ADHD child..lol

WE had a back pack to wear him because we could NOT trust him to run off!

and if we didn't keep moving...he would grab handfuls of our hair and yank repeatedly...I guess he thought we were horses!? it didnt' hurt...

But we sure got funny looks from people that we would have to stop and talk to..lol..

We just ignored him....but I'm sure we looked a sight, wearing our son on our backs with him tugging on our hair!

I have those backpacks that you strap on the kids that have leashes attached for when I have to do very important things such as that or traveling with just me and my two kids. They think they're wearing cool backpacks and still have yet to figure out why they can't go far....lol.

Lisa your cake is awesome! Great job at multi-tasking!! Did you have someone from the store keep an eye on your little boy while you got the cakes stacked or did he sit down & watch his mommy at work? Fantastic job!!
