Anyone tried either of these as a filling? I was thinking of using one of them in a cheesecake flavored cake. Let me know please if you've tried either of these. I'm not sure if the dulce de leche is thick enough, or if the caramel frosting is good. I saw both recipes on this site. Thank you , any and all help is appreciated!

I never tried caramel, I have used dulce de leche and let me tell you once you try dulce de leche you don't want to go back to caramel. Caramel is made with sugar and butter or cream, dulce de leche is made with milk and sugar. I get mine at Albertons at the latin food aisle, you could also boil a can of condensated milk for about 4 hours and get dulce de leche, just put the closed can in water and let it boil or just go to the grocery store and buy the one already made, make sure you buy the one at the picture below as it has a great consistency for filling, it wont spread out a all.
