I talked to the venue yesterday. They (the venue) only called for the bride to get someone out to fix the cake. She said when they cut the cake all the flavors of the cake were right, but the design of the cake was wrong.
I talked to dad also and he talked to his daughter she had told him she wanted the cake with scroll work on it. The cake she picked and the cake she wanted were in my portfolio side by side. So she either pointed to the wrong cake or saw her point to the wrong cake. What a mess!!! Dad was still very nice and understanding. I explained that the contact specifically stated she wanted the loose petal pattern cake and that's what I brought. I told him I took the complaint very seriously and when his daughter returned from the honeymoon she should call me and we can have a sit down.
I still don't really know what she will want and I don't know what I want to give her if she wants compensation. I think she needs a new anniversary cake with the right decorations and on the house for sure. I guess I have to figure out the rest when we talk.
This is a very well to do family and I don't get that they are trying to scam me. Dad had been EXTREMELY courteous and understanding. I feel so bad and have a huge fever blister from the stress of this weekend.
I'll keep you posted.
Oh and whoever said to send the picture and contract via email and have the bride sign off on it is a genius. Why did'nt I think of that. That could have completely stoped this whole situation.
Thanks again, Andrea

Sounds like you have handled the situation very professionally and thoughfully. These things happen, I can understand how stressed you must be!! Good luck and I hope things work out for you!

Sounds like you are making all the right moves Andrea. I think it will all work out favorably for everyone. As to the fever blister, Merthiolate, it looks pretty awful but it clears them up so much faster. It dries them out rather than keeping them soft where they spread. I get them always from stress.

It's like a cold sore...

....and I find that colloidal silver works great to rid them
