Sigh....

I just had a tasting. They said it was delicious. The bride liked the plain white cake over the strawberry I made.

(I make cupcakes, ice them with a star tip)

Well, I made too many cupcakes, as usual, so I tasted the white one just because I don't feel so good and I wanted some cake! It was dry!!! I then tasted a strawberry one (made only a day later...) and it was fine! Both were sprinkled with syrup and wrapped in enough plastic to suffocate San Fransisco. I took a bite out of another white one, and it wasn't dry. So now I'm just so befuzzled, I don't know what to do. They said it was delicious, but wouldn't they say that anyway???

AAARGH!! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif This isn't my week!!

I know that the question as to whether or not she tasted a great cc or not is eating away at you right now, but chances are that since the bride said that she liked the white vs. the strawberry they really were delicious. Maybe since you're not feeling too well you tastebuds may be off. I'm sorry that this happened to you, but on the bright side, you came to the right place. I'm sure any minute now the CC rescue squad will show up offering you a ton of advice and support. That's one of the many reasons I love this site! icon_smile.gif

If it makes you feel any better, I often think my white cakes are a little dry. But when I mention this to others (whom I trust) they say it's not at all dry! I think I'm just a little sensitive after baking and tasting so much- maybe you are too. Good luck and I hope you get the order!

I am sure she loved it especially since she said she liked the white one the best.

If she really did not like it...she might of asked you if you had any other flavors that she could try.

Don't stress over it...I bet that she orders from you! icon_biggrin.gif

I'm in total agreement that both cupcakes were fine!

...enough plastic to suffocate San Francisco.

My, that's a lot of saran wrap!!!!

your tastebuds could be affected, you said you weren't feeling that great.

I agree with RisqueBusiness! I had a cold last week and when I took a bite of the scraps from a chocolate cake I made...it tasted like dirt to me. I had every kid within 50 mile radius tasting it and they thought it was great! LOL!!!

yeah...maybe when you tasted the first white one YOUR tastebuds were dry so it tasted dry then after getting them (your tastebuds) in gear the next one tasted ok. They just had to wake up some....lol
