I am thinking of using Alice's Cookie Icing for the first time to do some cookies for my daughter's Halloween party tomorrow. My question is, can I substitute All Whites for Meringue Powder? Are they the same thing? I have never used either. I would like to make a decoration that will travel well home with the little goblins!
yes you can use the meingue powder instead of the eggwhites. meringe powder is dried egg whites.
Powdered egg whites work very well in place of Meringue Powder. I acutally like it better. It's not grainy and doesn't have that "off" taste. It's used in the same amounts as Meringue Powder.

I'm glad I checked out this post.
They sell the egg white powder at my grocery store and I was wondering the same thing. Thanks!
Unlike plain powdered egg whites, meringue powder is made of dried egg whites, sugar, and gum.
that is the answer to what is meringue powder....basically its the same thing and probably more stable than just plain egg white poweder that doesnt have the gum.
I would like to make a question...I use wilton's meringue powder.I want to make some little meringues.I have to bake them or to leave them dry?
