i am new in thi forous and i just make the fondant, but it dosen't looks very firm like the normal fondant, did i make something wrong?can you help me please? [/b]
well, we don't know how you made it. here's mine:
1-cup miniature marshmallows
1 Tablespoon water
A few drops of flavoring
About 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
Place the marshmallows in a large microwave safe glass container with the water. Gently melt to a smooth mixture, removing after a few seconds to stir. Add powdered sugar a little at a time until you cannot stir anymore in. Knead in more sugar until you have very soft pliable dough.
You can use this dough immediately as the cornstarch in the marshmallows helps to stabilize the fondant. If you do not intend to use it immediately, then leave it a little softer.
If you use colored marshmallows youll have a nice pastel colored fondant but you can color the white with food color.
cali4dawn thank you for aswer me,the way that i made this recipe was almost the same it only changes the quantity.my recipe was 16oz.marshmallow-2 spons of water-1 pund of poweder sugar.and flavor.i did everithing and i really liked the only thing was that it wasn't tick enough and when i put some flowers over the cake they started mealting.
Add more sugar if you want it more firm. Can yo explain a little more about the flowers? Did you mean buttercream flowers? Real flowers? The fondant started melting or the flowers? Give us some more detail and we can help you out.
THE FLOWERS WERE MAKE WITH MARSHMLLOW FONDANT,I CUT FEW OF THEM AND I PUT THEM OVER THE CAKE AND THEY START MELTING.
