Hi,
I saw some lovely iced cookies here a few days ago but unfortunately I can't remember whose cookies they were
I have never made cookies, let alone icing them. LOL
My son's 5th birthday will be in 2 weeks time and i'd love to make/decorate some cookies/cupcakes to take to his day care (instead of a cake).
I need to know the following:
1) recipe for the icing. Not sure what to put on the cookies yet but the
theme is Lunar Jim (www.lunarjim.com).
I have tried piping at one of my cake deco class and i am bad at it so am thinking perhaps doing 3D rather than using piping. What do you think?
2) recipe for cookies please.
3) recipe for icing for cup cakes please
4) how to iced cookies?
5) how to iced cupcakes?
Sorry I am so many questions. I am a beginner. Since this is a cookies forum, I will also post this came question in the cake section.
thanks
If you are new to this, I would suggest making it as simple for yourself as possible. For cookies - use the Betty Crocker mix and add butter flavored shortening instead of margarine. They spread less, are easy to do, and taste good! I usually use royal icing to decorate mine - people like these. As far as cakes, do cupcakes for kids. They like these better than slices, they tend to be pretty easy, and if you use the Wilton Buttercream recipe, it's very easy and most people like it.
