Happy Freakin' Birthday to me!!!
Not looking for sympathy or wishes, just need to vent about my family.
Who does everyone call when a birthday cake is needed? Who is always invited to birthday parties? Me (the daughter, sister, aunt, friend...)!
Well, today is my birthday and my DH and I just sat down to sing me Happy Birthday! And we had some of my Twinkie Birthday Cake. My best friend went to see a cousin, my mom--who knows where she is, my sister--not a call, my nieces and their kids that I have always treated as my own--not around.
Okay--got that off my chest and thru venting. Happy Birthday to all the August 29th babies out there. I can have my cake and eat it, too! And I only have to share it with my husband... 
oh you are not alone. this happens to me too. now I can't really say anything about my family cause we don't live in the same state and my mom always calls me but my dh has a big family and they are always calling me to make a cake for someone and i do it cause I enjoy it but when it comes around to my b-day or my dh (our b-day is the same day) it is like no one remembers us so i know exactly how you feel.

I am so sorry that your birthday didn't turn out lik you expected.
Mine sucked this year. My husbad is in Iraq so I decided to pack up 3 kids and drive home to visit my family. Thinking they would do something for me. Drove 10 1/2 hours and even called my mom and told her what kind of cake I wanted- got there and nothing- no cake, no dinner. I ate a tomato sanwich from my dad's garden and went to bed ticked off. Even my kids forgot to sy happy bday!!! Boohoo hoo for me. Oh well just had to remind myself that my treasure is in heaven!!! Went the next day and bought myself a birthday canolli!! yummy

I know how you feel, mine is day after tomorrow and I will be in the same boat. Last year I went to the mailbox...no cards, I waited all day and no calls, I waited untill 6 pm for any of my family to even say Happy birthday. Cheer up at least you have your DH mine works on the road guess I can have a cake with the dog he seems to love my cakes!

Ok next don;t you hate that you get invited to every frikin birthday so now you have to buy something even if you don';t show up and when its your turn nothing....or maybe something but cheap...
I have the same problem with my husbands family they all have like 10 nieces and nephews then invite me to every deg on bday and for the same old thing take out food and cake.. i'm mean deg at least cook....
then what pisses me off is when i find a present they bought for my son at the deg on $1 store .....I mean I know i'm better off then them but damn ............ u know....... or I also hate when they piggy back on a present , which happens every christmas from to me from all of my husbands sisters.... IT kills me .
I swear I can't wait to go overseas to europe....Thank good ness my husband is in the military
so you see in closing LOL dont' feel to bad. is it better to be just solo with your lovey hubby or being harrassed by the entire world....

My son was born on my 20th birthday, and ever since then, nobody acknowledges me... it's now HIS birthday. But on the bright side, if I'm not having birthdays, I'm not getting any older, right?!? LOL!

Yeah, birthdays s**k. Mine is on Christmas, the biggest Day of Family Obligation there is. I get to spend mine with people I don't like that much!
Happy Birthday! Yep, I'm a member of that club too! Mine was the 15th and I made myself a chocolate fudge cake with ganache. I figure better off having the best cake ever than something I probably wouldn't enjoy as much that was store bought....trying to look on the positive side here! 
Happy Birthday to you! My BD was last week and I am glad to say my kids bought me an ice cream cake because I am always making cakes and knew I wouldn't want cake. They surprized me while I was doing, what else, making a cake for my son!

One year my hubby brought home HALF a cake to celebrate my birthday. HIs boss's birthday is the same day as mine and she just thinks the world of my hubby. I guess after they had served everyone and there was some left, she offered it to my hubby. How cheezy is that for a hubby to bring home that??? HE was in the doghouse.

Just wanted to wish you a happy birthday. Hubby never tells me H/B or anything. Made him a cake last year for his b/d and he never even cut the cake he took it over to his mom's house. Quess who won't be getting another cake. I quess the most of us has been there one way or another. So you are not by yourdelf. But again HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!!!!

I know how you feel. I haven't had a birthday cake in 11 years. Every years I tell my husband I want one and I have yet to get one. I rarely get a present because my Birthday is in Jan and we are still getting over Christmas. Then to top it off my husband has this stupid thing he does. He won't tell me happy birthday until right before we go to bed. I HATE it. Half the time I wind up crying and he still doesn't get it. My mom always made a big deal out of our birthdays. I always make a big deal out of others. I gues that is my life always giving and never getting.
