I have an opportunity to take part in a vendor and craft night in a couple of weeks. A 6 ft. table costs $20. I need to donate something to raffle off.
What should I bring for this event (this will be my first one!)?
Business cards, of course. My portfolio.
I am thinking of bringing mini cake balls for sampling, and regular sized ones already boxed up for people to purchase.
Should I do slices of cake with filling or just make mini cupcakes?
How should I decorate the table?
My mind is swimming...need advice please!!
THANKS!

I think the cake balls sound like a good idea and you might want to make a dummy cake for display and serve the mini cupcakes. They are easy to make and you can do the swirl of icing on top really easily. Maybe do a fall theme cake for the raffle or a roasted turkey cake.

Hope that helps. Good luck, sounds like a great opportunity!!

cake balls all the way!!!!! I donated some to a church bake sale that was happening at the local KOA and now I'm doing some for goodies at a bridal shower. One person bought them and told a ton of people so word of mouth on these little cake gems are great.

Yes on packages of cake balls. I would make a small tiered cake for display at the table, will be a real attention getter.

A fall cake would be good for the raffle, I agree.

When you go to restaurants and places like Starbucks they will sell slices of cake so why not! I would torte them twice so the slices have two layers of the filling. Cupcakes are good too. I would do both.

Okay, I'm going to make mini cake balls for tasting and mini cupcakes in vanilla carmel, chocolate and yellow with swirls of icing on top. I offer about 10 different kinds of fillings. Should I try and do any filled cupcakes. That seems like a lot of work!

I have one 12 by 18 portfolio. Should I put copies of photos in other smaller albums (one for kids' cakes, one for wedding and tiered cakes, etc.)?

I've never done a dummy cake before, but think it would be great to have one displayed. I know this sounds stupid, but how do I go about making one exactly? Can I use any kind of styrofoam? Just cover in saran wrap and then frost? HELP needed here please!

Also, thoughts on how to set up the table?

I so appreciate all your ideas!!
