Has anyone else read this? It's a short story about a true wedding cake disaster from a world famous chef. If I wrote this, I think I would have concealed my real identity--LOL! There's more info about the book and a link to the story here.

He's not retired but he might be after the book's release in Oct.

Did anyone else find it strange how he traveled with the cake...seemed so careless for a pro. I guess that isn't the most disturbing part anyway icon_razz.gif

OOOOOOH! Disgusting, that's what I have to say about it! Even a novice cake decorator would know to be careful transporting a cake....and putting the topper in place once you get there. But to serve cake after an animal or anything has licked on it????? YUCK!

OH NO!!! I bet that someone out there realizes that it was their wedding and sues him! That's a funny story though.

They wouldn't sue because the end of the story says that the bride and groom and wedding coordinator were ALL thanking him for saving the day!! GROSS!!
The ONLY thing I can think is that maybe...HOPEFULLY he cut the portion that to dogs were eating off and just salvaged the rest.

Oh my GOD that reminds me of this time my Mother made a pie for a bake sale! It was a chocolate pie and her german shepard licked off some of the topping and she covered it back up added coconut and called it GERMAN CHOCOLATE PIE!!!! She prayed the whole time nobody would ask her why it was German chocolate...and to top it all off it was for our CHURCH!

Hey, I actually saw that article in the Post, and I cut it out, just to remember the horrible story! I laughed hard, but it was so unethical! It actually made me really sad to think that there are people out there who are willing to lie and risk others' health just to save face (and money too, but still).
