getting everything in line for my setting up my business and I had chosen the name SUGAR TOPPED CREATIONS awhile back and even registered it w/the state and the website name was even available.

but at the time I wasn't familiar w/SUGAR CREATIONS (i think she is even a member here??).

Do you guys think that is too close?? I really like the name and can't for the life of me come up w/anything else....probably b/c I like the name so much.

if you think i should change it.....anyone have any ideas??

I'd say stick with what you have. It's a big country, and there are only so many variations on a cake business' name.

is this person with sugar creations in your state or in your area??? if not I wouldn't worry about it.......I had the same question after deciding on Tina's Sugar Shack (running the business out of my garage) and then found out about Sharon's Sugar shack on CC......but she's in Louisiana and I'll be in Ohio so I don't see that it would matter......and there are about a gazillion others with Sugar shack in their names too!!! It's almost impossible to come up with a name nobody has yet. I think unless that person is in the same area as you I wouldn't worry about it. It's not the EXACT same name......and there are lots of people with the EXACT same name that get along just fine in different states. I think if there was an issue your state wouldn't allow the name

i dont think you nessecarrily have to change it however if you do here are a couple ideas...sweet topped creations, sugar topped perfection, or sweetl creations. Not sure if any are availably but just a thought.HTH

I don't know that you would have to change your name. She is a fellow cc'er. She's actually the one that won the competition on the food network. On her website it looks like she may have the name Sugar Creations copyrighted. I think yours might be different enough though.

I think you should keep it. Sugar creations is Kansas and a long ways from you. Think about how many " Cake by ?? " there are out there.
