I'm helping my best friend plan my niece/god daughter's 14th birthday party for next month... she's requested a "Monkey cake" so I emailed her some ecards from some cakes here at CC I thought she'd like. She picked on that me and my husband both liked so that's good lol... I also saw some Monkey Face cookies... I emailed those as well thinking we could do those as favors for the younger kids and those who don't want cake but still want something sweet... I can't find the cutter ANYWHERE!!!!

I'm also searching for the Harley Davidson SHIELD cutter... I saw Stella I think... had made some and my best friend LOVES harley davidson and collects everything! I am planning on making her a harley cake for her birthday in November and wanted to make her some cookies and buy her a harley davidson cookie jar to put them in as her surprise gift... (they spent ALOT of me for my birthday this year lol)

Ok I know I can make them myself... and hubby is asking "can we use Stainless Steel to make them" I said the "recipe" directions for making them calls for Aluminum flashing... so NO! you get what is said to be gotten lol.....

But I'd like to purchase the premade cutters so I don't have to fight with making them and plus there isn't much time and money and I think buying them premade would be cheaper then making them lol....

So if anyone has them and is willing to part with them please let me know! I have paypal and I also have a checking account so I can buy them no problem if you're willing to part with them.

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP THIS IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT TO ME!!!

Edited to add pictures of cookies I want/need to make!!

Ok, why didnt you ask me earlier!! You can either get them custom made or you can make a template with cardboard and use a knife and cut around it which is cheaper!!!

I dont have the actual cutters. I buy the ones I have from Coppergifts.com. But why dont you make the template out of cardboard like I suggested? Its easy and cheap! I did my Dora cookies and those 10 trays for the school last year the same way. I actually think it works better than using some cutters because you dont have to worry about the dough getting stuck in them!

If I am in great need, I will take the picture and take a piece of parchment paper, hold it on the computer screen and just trace over the shape w/pencil. Then I cut it out and trace the shape from parchment onto cardboard. I then cut that out and use that as my template and cut my cookies out that way. I know it seems long, but if you really really want a template and a shape it works well! I have done many of my cookies that way in a pinch. icon_smile.gif

He is very VERY cute but OMG! $60.00 for a piece of metal? That's the kind of money I don't have right now lol not for something I may only make once. BUT thank you so much for sharing he is so precious!

icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif LOL. I don't mean to laugh but the price does take one by surpirse. They are works of art though. I'm the sugar artist for Simons and have been luck enough to make many of their wonderful designs. The cookies on their home page were done by me.

You could get a cutter made by Al Morehouse (he's a tinsmith) but it would still probably cost you $30. Let me know if you want to contact him.

Good luck. If I lived by you I'd let you use my cutter. icon_smile.gif

WOW! That's such an accomplishment! That's wonderful that you're work is shown on the site in which you get your cutters that's so cool!

Thanks for the offer for contacting Mr. Morehouse, but as I said I've never done cookies before and these will be my firsts so I don't know if I want to invest in stuff like this yet lol. I've got the Wilton 101 cookie cutter set (the large box before they changed everything up) but I don't think there is a monkey in there lol. And she fell in love with this little face up there lol.

I've printed out both the shield image from google image search, as well as those monkey cookies up there I posted earlier, hopefully I'll be able to follow yalls instructions and get some cookies to turn out good lol

Another option is make a 4" round cookie, draw the monkey face on with edible pens, then outline the design and flood it. I did that with the bugs in my album. Not difficult. I'll be interested to see what you finally do.

Almost all of my cookies are made using a cardboard template. I print the picture out and then glue to a cereal box and cut around it. It does not take any skills to use a knife around the cardboard, just make sure your cookie dough is nice and chilled as it will cut easier as opposed to tearing. After I move the cookies onto my cookie sheets I will take my finger and smooth any rough edges down. Don't be scared....it is a very economical and easy way to get a way cool cookie.

After spending a lot of money on dozens of cookie cutters I had decided that it was more economical for me to make templates for some of the cookie shapes. If I were going to make a mass amount of a particular shape, I think it's worth purchasing a cutter. But for a quick solution and or for making just a few cookies... templates work! But instead of cardboard I use non-slip vinyl template sheets that you find over in the quilting department. I get mine from Walmart and I think it's around 5.00 for six, 8 1/2 x 11-inch sheets. I print out whatever shape I need, lay the vinyl on top of the printed image and get a permanent marker to trace around the picture onto the plastic. Then cut it out with some really good scissors. After your done, place the template on the dough and cut with an exacto blade. You can wash and reuse your cookie template. I store them flat in a drawer and you can even write on the template what the shape is incase it's not easily identifiable for future use. If you have never noticed the vinyl sheets, here's an example of what to look for at Walmart. http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat3716&PRODID=prd12987&source=search

That is the coolest idea. I don't sew at all, so I would never have known those were there. I am definitely purchasing those and using them to re-make all of my cardboard templates. That will be so much easier than laminating the cardboard. Thanks for that information! I will definitely be using it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In fact it makes me want to make a trip out to walmart right now....LOL

If you have a laminating machine, just print out the pic, cut it out, laminate it and cut along the edges, just make sure you don't cut too close. That way you can use the laminated pics as a guide to cut out your cookie dough and then again, when decorating time comes along.
This is how I did my Cleopatra cookies

you're welcome freddyfl! The nice things about the vinyl template sheets is that they are a really nice thickness and very durable, I can get a lot of shapes out of the package.... and the best part is that you can actually put them in the sink with the rest of your dishes and wash them with hot soapy water!! I noticed at Walmart that they had the kind I use and they now have a thicker version of the vinyl. Not sure how many sheets of it come in the package though. I think the cardboard templates are a good idea too... I just don't have access to a laminator.

I think I'll pick up some of that vinyl stuff next time I'm in walmart and I'll also take Wierkd up on her offer lol. She has a great kitchen! it's beautiful and has a beautiful center islant perfect for rollin out cookies lol.

The Harley cookies are mine. My husband made me the cutter. (He's the Big Z in the cookie). He does sheet metal by trade so this was a breeze for him. Please tell you husband stainless steel is much harder to bend then the aluminum flashing. I just draw the shape I want and he sits at night and bends them up for me. Please let me know if you have any questions on how to do it.
