I have used frosting on the bottom of my cupcakes to make them stay in position. However, once I delivered them some had fallen over. Any suggestions for next time? Thanks!

I dont ever set them up, until im putting them were they will stay, You can get little cheap muffin pans to transport them so they dont fall over.
Up to this day, my children have stollen a peice of every finished cake!!!

I have found that too much or too little icing can cause this. To little and there is not enough to hold them in place. To much and they just slide on the icing. I usually put a dab about the size of a nickel and maybe an 1/8 - 1/4 thick on the bottom. Then just push it in place. I also let them set about 15 mins before I start decorating them. I'm not sure if this really helps, but in my mind I think i'm letting them settle and set in place. They are still movable but it's just a theory!
I hope you have better luck next time!

p.s. I also try to make sure that I have icing over lapping between my cupcakes on the top of them. A little more support pulling them together.

I use the cheap no-slip rubber bar matting you use for glasses in restaurants. About $1 per 5 foot roll. I cut it to the size of my box and the cupcakes never even budge.
I also use it underneath all my cakes when transporting. A LIFESAVER!!
