My 8 year old daughter took 2nd place in the state fair theme cake for 6-9 year olds and 1st place and best in class in the 6-9 age division for her regular cake!!! WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!! : icon_smile.gificon_biggrin.gif

Thats so great. My daughter is 3 and always pulls out the playdoh when I am cake decorating. I imagine she will enter the fairs with me as she gets older. - It seems like such a mommy daughter moment that you want to hold in your heart forever.

She did a GREAT job!!!!! It is a wonderful mom and daughter moment, as others have said. My daughter and I started Wilton classes last year, when she was 8. We love it!!!

Congrats to your princess! Can't wait to see what she can do in 10 years!!!

Stormy2500..she did a great job on Mt. Rainier! I know from your other posts she really practiced and prepared....congratulations to you both!!! thumbs_up.gif Has your daughter taken the Wilton courses or are you teaching her?

Gabbenmom..so they let your 8 year old take the course?

my daugther would love it if I let her bake. YOur daughter did awesome. Maybe next year I will think about letting my daughter enter the cookie or cake division for the under 9's

Your daughter did a wonderful job on both cakes ! While I never did anything as nice as hers, I started baking & "decorating" cakes when I was around 9-10 years old and still at it
I'm sure you're one proud momma !!!
