This is an urban legend, but regardless it is a very good recipie. I freeze it all the time. And I have also added instant coffee to the recipie to make more of a mocha chip cookie - and let me tell you, there are never any left.

my sister in law gave this recipe to me years ago.we put 1/2 choc chips and 1/2 butterscotch chips.it dose make alot of cookies .we only make them for at xmas.
I am sure that blended oatmeal is just the regular oatmeal. That is all I used the two times I made it. Just make sure it is NOT the "quick oats" but the regular. The quick oats have been treated a special way so that it will cook faster whereas the regular cook oats takes time because of all the blended types of oats. I can also say that the recipe that famousamous put on here is the only one that I have ever seen it with the word blended on it.
