Hello CC'ers,
I haven't been on here in a while, still working on my Master's degree. Anyway, here is what I need. I need a recipe for a German Chocolate cake that I can make from a box mix. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated. I need it for a cake I am doing for Sunday.
TIA,
Bradymom
I don't have a good one in my pocket...
...but I would suggest to go to a bookstore and buy (or copy in the store ) the Cake Mix Doctor's book. I have found quote a few of her recipes on the internet also.
I have had really good reviews with all of her cakes that I have tried.
Duncan Hines makes a german choc. cake mix.....it's pretty decent, if you want to use a box mix. Then, I just buy the coconut and pecan canned frosting to put on it, although I'm sure there is an even tastier recipe for homemade frosting somewhere!!!

This is the link ( I am so bad about putting in links) from this site.
Just go to recipes and do a search for german chocolate. They say to use a yellow cake mix and add to it.
Here is a link to a German Chocolate cake recipe that was on Good Morning America. My friend made this and she say's it was amazing although I have yet to try it. You add one can of coconut pecan frosting to the cake mix itself. http://www.wchstv.com/gmarecipes/amazgermanchocolatecake.shtml
Good luck!
