I really need a good recipe for melted chocolate. There is a thread that someone said that they used Crisco in theirs but theres' not a recipes for it. I just need a foolproof recipe to cover cake balls.

You should probably use a coating chocolate or candy melts. Unless you can temper chocolate, real chocolate will 'bloom' or turn white as it sets.

With candy melts or coating chocolate, shortening is added about a teaspoon at a time for thinning. If the melted chocolate is already thin, you don't have to add any. But much of it will be thick when melted, and it won't dip properly.
