Could any one tell me what to charge for these? I was thinking about making some up for christmas but I'm not sure how many cookies for each and what to charge. Thanks.

I'd check your competition as a first step.

It seems to me that 1.50 - 2.00 per cookie would sound fair if they are decorated cute ?!?!?

I know TiffTurtle is doing them for $25 I think she has 5 or 6 cookies in them for halloween. I was looking at doing 7 or 8 cookies for about $25. It depends on how low you can find the containers and how much detail work is done to me. I found mine for 96 cents and I have not mastered the detailing with royal icing yet so I covered mine in MMF. You can see my first try in my photos. This is not the containers I will be using just things I found around my house.

Hope it helps.

I charge $18 for 3-cookie bouquets and $32 for 7-cookie bouquets. The most I'll place in a small container is 4 cookies (with each add'l cookie being $4 each) and I can place up to 12 in a large bouquet, also with each add'l cookie being $4 each! I figure my cost and then my price....which gives me a very nice profit margin! Just gotta keep your costs low.....easier said than done when time is applied! This is why I only do cookies for special occasions/holidays! When I have a lot to do, my cost stays low, since most of my cost is "time spent".....and I'm much more efficient with my time when I operate like an assembly line!

My cookies-on-a-stick alone are $3.00 each (mainly because I hate them and so every time I make them I remember my blood, sweat and tears the last time and bump up the price)... If I had to put them together in a bouquet I think I would almost charge double that. Lots goes into making a cookie bouquet! So, a bouquet with 5 cookies would be around $30.

Well if your area can handle the price you can do as www.cookiesbydesign.com theirs are $45 to $98 a bouquet. I am in a very small town outside the mountains so noone would pay it here. You just have to go by your market area.

It is just like housing. A house that would sell for $600,000 in California would cost closer to $150,000 here. There is huge differences in different areas.

I bought the large ones at Walmart (wilton). You can get them at Michaels or Hobby Lobby I am sure. If you are doing a lot at one time I would definitly order them though. Mine were less than $2 for 25 at Walmart.

Here's my take on this. I had a hard time trying determine what I wanted to price my cookie bouquets at. At first it was a 5 cookie bouquet for $25 then I changed it to a 6 cookie bouquet for $25. I want to stay competitive but I also don't want to short myself. So thru October 31, I have an introductory price of $15 for a 6 cookie bouquet but after Oct 31st they will be set at $25. A 12 cookie bouquet will be priced at $40. I think that's fair considering I live in the metro Atlanta area and some of the cookie bouquet company's charge $48.95 for a 6 cookie bouquet.

Hope this helps.

agentcakebaker...im go glad to see that someone besides myself and patticakes are selling cookie bouquet for that price.
I live in an area that had never heard of cookie bouquet...so mine are starting at 25.00 for a 6 cookie bouquet. I just base my price off of what it cost me to make them...i enjoy making them too much so i dotn even figure in how much time it takes me, though if someone were to order a crazy amount i may would have to figure that in...lol...

as far as bags i use hefty baggies 1.19 for 50 and i just wrap the extra bag around the stick and use a small piece of tap to close it up...they are clear and slighty stretchy so they cover well...that is what i used in my halloween cookie bouquet that i posted on here.

and be sure to check out the dollar stores for containers...you can find some nice ones for dirt cheap that look like they cost way more.

i would say also , that when it comes to pricing...you dont want to scare people away..i know its nice to make a profit but if you live in an area that is not used to seeing things like this and you put a too high price on them they may not go...you could always start low and do like agentcakebaker and have an intro price.

mho

One way I keep the cost down is to stock up on containers when they are on sale. Michael's had those clay pots on sale 3 for $1, so I bought about 30 of them. I just buy some paint and paint it quickly. For Halloween, I did orange, yellow, and white stripes like a candy corn. Another thing I've used for containers are coffee mugs. I used to be a teacher and I have received so many over the 8 years I taught, and I don't drink coffee or even hot chocolate, so they just sat in my cabinets. I've washed them all up and they look as good as new. I figure those will make a great small bouquet. I like to make the container something that can be used again for something else. You can also stock up on seasonal containers after the holiday is over. I plan to do that after Halloween.

Also, I wanted to add that I have used clear plastic wrap to wrap the cookies with. I bought a cute thing of seasonal ribbon to tie at the base since my cookies never seem to fit in the Wilton ones.

Momofjakeandjosh that is a great idea. I haven't thought of the coffee cups. That would be a great buying tool too since this is something they can use afterwards!

I'm not sure how much to charge either, but I have to tell everyone about the containers that I purchased this weekend. Michaels had all kinds of the chinese take out containers for $1.00. And the possibilities are endless at the Dollar Tree. I bought Christmas coffee mugs, metallic wire basket, whicker baskets, and could have bought more. Not to mention the tissue paper, ribbon, etc. My head was aching from all the ideas running through my mind! What fun!!
