I baked this cake with so much love for a close family members son's first bday. This woman at the party (not to nice) asked in a nasty way if this was a castle cake. Duh! I think it was her way to try to put me down on front of people. I know i'm not an expert cake decorator...but I tried to do my best. BTW everyone else thought it was great...except what this women said bothered me. ~just venting~ thanks!

I see a metro city with lots of buildings. Castles are cute and pink, or dark and gray. And Spiderman does not live in a castle.

You did a great job. Some people are just rude and/or jealous. Don't let her bad attitude ruin your perspective.

Maybe she wanted to decorate the cake but didn't get the privelage and is now eating sour grapes - or sour castles.

uhmmmm....just do a search in the CC Gallery for "Castle Cake", I venture to say you'll find nothing that resembles a SPIDERMAN Cityscape Cake icon_rolleyes.gif. I say the smarty pants guest goes to bed without cake-bless her heart icon_twisted.gif

I love your interpretation of the Spiderman theme, and would like to use this cake as inspiration for a birthday cake I have coming up in September if you don't mind thumbs_up.gif
Would sure like more info on how you did Spidey.

TIA,
Kathy

No castle to be seen here either. It's plainly spidey city for lack of the actual name. haha. You did a great job and yep, she's just trying to make you less confident in your talent. Don't listen to her, you did a "spideriffic" job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would have loved to see the little boys face when he saw this cake, I bet he was so happy!

next time punch her in the neck icon_razz.gif j/j
(seriously just joking)

i think it looks like a cookie city. last time i checked i didn't see a beach or sand in NY w/ spiderman (sandman being the only exception, but i think he was egyptian or something can't recall all my comic book knowlege at the moment). anyway some people feel they have to be nasty to others to make themselves better. you did a great job!! thumbs_up.gif

Can you say *JEALOUS*!!?? This cake is adorable, and she was just being a snit because she wasn't the one who made it. I love it and think you should just thumb your nose at her! icon_lol.gif

I see only the talent of a fellow cc'er who did a fantastic job. The theme comes across clearly. Your idea was smart to use cookies for the city scape. Wish I had seen it before my grandson's birthday, I did a s-man cake and like your interpretation much much more. Unfortunately there will always be people who enjoy attacking others. Don't focus on her, keep your chin up and focus on the many compliments you did receive at the party. Congrats on a great job

I would say it looks like a castle if I lost one eye and couldn't see out of the other icon_lol.gif
What ever!!!! It is funny it seams to me when people are rude or unkind they end up saying something that makes them look dumb.
I remeber a teacher told me that it is better to be thought of as a fool then to open your mouth and remove all doubt icon_lol.gif There is no doubt about her icon_biggrin.gif
I think it looks great

Looks just like a castle to me! Love the blue & red knight and the cars driving in the moat. icon_rolleyes.gif Puh-lease!

Your cake is awesome. It seems there are always people who try to feel better about themselves by putting others down. Unless this lady's vision was impaired or she was senile, then it sounds like she was just being a big PITA.

Awesome Spidey cake!!!

Why do people do that? I had a rude comment that brought me down this week too..not about my cake, but about my son. As hard as it is, I try to forget it, but can't. Your cake is fabulous. It's nothing like a castle cake. I find that most women always dreamed of decorating their kids' bday cakes, but only a small percentage of us actually got to do it. Maybe there was jealousy. Great cake. Have a good one.

I'm with everyone else...this woman is just jealous or brainless! As hard as it is to ignore the one negative comment, please try to "replay" all the positive ones instead (speaking as someone who struggles with this, too)!

Your cake looks great! thumbs_up.gif My daughter and I are arguing about how you did the big spiderman on the large cake. Is it a chocolate transfer or something else?

Thanks,
Kathi

This does not look like a castle cake. Where did she get that idea of a castle? I let my kids look at it and all they saw was spiderman saving the city. And all that matters is that your family member's son liked it.
