ok.... my dh and i were taking the car to my fil to have it repaired, our tire needed a new bearing the wheel was wobbly. well it didnt make it. only about 100 yard from the house the tire(the WHOLE tire-rim and all) just fell off. icon_cry.gificon_eek.gif our car jack was broken and two kindly sympathetic teenage neighbor boys came to our rescue. helped us put the tire back on and get it back to the house.... we are broke cause my dh just got laid off and i cant afford to give them money, but (as i always have cake supplies on hand) thought i could make them a cake. i have no idea what to put on it cause i dont knkow what they like or even their names, i only know where they live cause they had to go inside to get the car jack. i need ideas and thought i would come to my wonderful mentors for help...... icon_biggrin.gif any ideas of what kind of cake and what a teenage boy would like on a cake?

Teenage boys would LOVE any kind of cake, they normally have hollow legs. Chocolate is always a good flavor.
Why don't you make a tire cake? Or incorporate your mishap into it with a jack or tools. Most guys like anything with tools. icon_lol.gif

First off I think ANY kind of cake will suit a teenage boy!!! How about something re: what the cake is acutally for. A tire rolling off the side of the cake a jack something a little humerous. HTH and good luck with your car!!!

Or - if they are like my boys, ANYTHING with "cool" cars...such as old classics, motorcycles, and the like. Mine just oooh and aaaww over them when I show them the cakes like that on CC.

How nice to have nice kids like that in your neighborhood!

thanks for the advice, i probably wont do a cake with tires just because so much black would leave a lasting black color in their mouth(lol), but ill probably do something with cars i think. thanks again for the advice.

How about making a cake that resembles a $20 bill?

You could always do something along the lines of video games. I know my teenage son is really into those. Maybe something sports related or something with the school logo if they are into sports. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.

Hi,
I live across the pond from you in Elberta. I bet they would like anything related to the beach, water, fishing, etc. Halloween is around the corner....

My kids are like that...they'll help anybody!

And I just KNOW that if someone brought them a chocolate cake, they'd just die blushing and saying thank you. icon_lol.gif

How about a FBCT picture (they're nice and cheap--no new pans needed!) of a car up on a jack, or just writing "Thanks!" in big letters on the cake...

You're so kind to think of them like this. Just as they were kind to you!

Love this story all day long... thumbs_up.gif
