Tis the season I feel like doing lots of baking... Have anyone ever done red velvet cake balls? If so, do you use the recipe on this site and add amaretto it. I also saw this recipe for cake balls, where you add the frosting to the mix. Have anyone ever tried this? I'm thinking about adding the cream cheese frosting to the red velvet cake ball mix with pecans, then dip them in chocolate. icon_rolleyes.gif What do you guys think?

I have done them with red velvet. They are sooo good. I used cream cheese frosting and dipped them in white chocolate.

was the white chocolate too sweet, because I dipped mine in the chocolate melts and that made them really really sweet

I used the white chocolate bark. Had to add a little shortening to thin it. They are pretty sweet, but everyone loves them. BTW--I didnt' know something could get "too sweet"! icon_biggrin.gif

I have made red velvet cake balls and I used french vanilla coffee creamer. My family went nuts. I made them on my spaghetti cake so they had drizzled buttercream icing on them.

I tried the vanilla almond bark and they turned out great. I can't wait to make more.
