Look At The Pedestal Stand My Hubby Made Me...

I searched for months looking for a pedestal stand like the Wilton one, but big enough for a larger cake. The biggest I could find was a 14" diameter, to hold a 12" cake. So I had my DH make me this for a wedding I had earlier today. I was so pleased with it. He made it from wood. It is an 18" diameter and held a 16" cake on the bottom tier. Two thumbs for my hubby...he is on my good list for this week!!!
He would be on my good list for months!!!! Very nice....so when do I get mine???
p.s. The cake is very pretty!
I'm so jealous.....my husband is so un-handy!
Is your hubby giving directions to make this??? I know my Dad can do it.
Beautiful stand and cake!
VERY NICE the cake and the stand. Nice to know hubbies help. If you give out the instructions I would be interested also.
Wow! A 18 inch single leg stand! Your hubby did nice work! Can you post a picture of the stand so we can see it better?
Beautiful cake too!
Wow! He did a great job on the stand! Your cake is beautiful too! You make a great team!
I'd love to see a close up of the stand, too. I've got my father working on 2 cake stands, a round one that is painted white and uses clear glass door knobs for the feet (he's got that one done) and a square one made out of walnut and will stain when he's finished constructing it. He'll carve decorative legs for it.
My question is, what did your husband use for the pedestal? Your hubby did a great job! And your cake is wonderful!
The stand looks very professional. Your hubby did a great job. I love your cake. Very nice
That's fantastic. I'm gonna have to crack a whip around here.....
Beautiful cake also!
Your cake and the stand are both beautiful! Your husband did a great job!
I bet he could sell those.
Great idea to just make your own!! He did a fabulous job, and your cake looks so awsome too!
Seems as though your husband may have a new business in the the cake pedestal market!
Ok gals...he read all of these wonderful posts and he's feeling like quite "the man" right now!!!
I will get a close up picture of the stand and put his directions on later on tonight...
I've gotta go and pop his bubble right now...I don't think his head is going to fit through the door!!!
Maybe he should consider making one of those a week, or two weeks, and selling them on ebay.
If it's difficult to find a stand that size, I'll bet a lot of people would probably buy them. Especially, if you put the word out here he's making them to sell.
Just a thought.
I think the stand is just beautiful! You're lucky to have a husband that can do such things. I can get mine to hold a board while "I" drill the holes through it.. haha (don't get me wrong, my husband is wonderful and I love him dearly, he's just a computer geek, not a handy man).

A wonderful stand & a beautiful cake. Looking forward to seeing the stand & instructions. My DH is very handy & had said when he saw the prices of some of the stands that there were quite a few he could make. I will keep you updated when that happens.
VERY NICE the cake and the stand. Nice to know hubbies help. If you give out the instructions I would be interested also.
Me too! Love the stand.... I see a tutorial possibility!!!
brnrlvr,
My dad is still working on them and he lives in Jacksonville, Fl. I'm in Montgomery, AL so I've got to go pick them up when he finishes them. I'll post pictures when I get them and when I figure out how to post them. I'm not very up-to-date on compooter stuff.

Thanks! I'll look forward to them! If you can get your picture on your computer, all you have to do is when you are posting a reply, scroll down and there is an "add an attachment" tab. Click it and it walks you through adding an attachment!
Your cake is beautiful and your husband should make those stands and sell them on Ebay - awesome job!
