I think I am pronouncing it wrong! Is the accent on the first or second syllable?

If you go to the online dictionary for Merriam-Webster, it will pronounce it for you (if you have speakers) HTH icon_smile.gif

I believe it's originally pronounced with the accent on the second...fonDANT, but it became americanized to FONdant. Up to you. I hear it both ways. icon_smile.gif

Thanks for asking that question! I've been wondering about that, too. I have always accented the first syllable, but lately have been hearing it on the second.

Thanks to those who posted the answers and links icon_smile.gif

I agree with the " rubbery stuff". My hubby calls it cake doh. Instead of Play Doh.
